Individual Counselling

As we grow up, we're taught not to show our emotions explicitly, so as not to be vulnerable in front of anyone. And instead of managing all the emotions that we go through, we try to suppress them. In individual therapy, we try to analyse the underlying thought patterns and beliefs that cause deregulation in your emotions. We also make sure that after therapy, you're equipped with all that is required to be better able to navigate through all the inevitable ups and downs in your life.

Each therapy session is designed according to the individual's needs and their best interest. You're dedicated a certain amount of time, where we talk only about you. Through analysis of your past and present difficulties, a mutual goal is set for the therapy. In each session, you and we together discover more about you and will integrate all parts of yourself to make you feel more empowered over the current life crisis. Even when you've got nothing much to discuss or have no specific goals in your mind, don't worry! We've got you covered. We use different modalities of psychotherapy so as to get to know you better and ease your distress, while continuously working towards your overall well-being.

How to trust an unknown person with your personal problems? Well, it’s the job of your therapist to make you feel comfortable and accepted completely without judgment. Maintaining Confidentiality is a part of our ethics and we abide by all.

Depression

Many people struggle with the symptoms of depression without realizing it. You might feel off, as though you are functioning below your normal capacity. Perhaps you struggle to get out of bed in the morning, feel listless throughout the day, and find work and activities unrewarding. Maybe you dwell on the tasks you haven’t accomplished and feel irritable and frustrated.

You might have noticed changes in your sleeping and eating habits, weight gain or weight loss. Maybe you feel less motivated to take care of yourself and have begun to neglect exercise, your hygiene, or your hobbies. Perhaps you have begun to isolate yourself and feel lonely, but lack the energy to reach out to friends or loved ones. Or perhaps you have always experienced low-motivation and negative thoughts and continue to struggle to get through each day.

Anxiety

Anxiety is more than just feeling stressed or worried. While stress and anxious feelings are a common response to a situation where we feel under pressure, they usually pass once the stressful situation has passed, or ‘stressor’ is removed. There are different types of anxiety and different reasons based on each person’s perception of a situation in present or past.

If you are tired of the constant sense of stress, it’s time to get some help sorting through all the stress.  Through counselling, we can help you take steps towards a meaningful and joyful life.  With therapy focused on helping you work through stress, anxiety, and burnout so that you can find relief and focus on doing what matters to you.

Pregnancy & Postpartum

During pregnancy, your mind and body go through so many changes. Postpartum, which means the time after giving birth, is an important time for a mother. The body is still going through changes and most importantly, the mind too.

After childbirth, it is fairly common for women to experience feelings of sadness and emptiness. However, these feelings go away within a few days. If these feelings don’t go away and persist for longer than 2 weeks, she is experiencing Postpartum Depression.

PTSD and Trauma

Post-traumatic stress disorder(T) or trauma (t) is the result of experiencing distressing or disturbing events. Trauma may not necessarily happen when some event has happened to you. You might also be a witness of something emotionally disturbing which is likely to live with you throughout and haunt you for life. Any even maybe traumatic for one person and might not be for the other. The symptoms of trauma may manifest in many forms. Confusion, difficulty concentrating, lost sense of security, anxiety, and fear, withdrawing from others are a few of the psychological effects of it.

Trauma counselling is based primarily on the regulation of your Autonomic nervous system. We slowly understand all your perceived threats and your responses to it. Therapy is focused on making you live with a sense of security in the environment which might still remind of your past experiences. We understand that the type of trauma can vary from one individual to another. And hence the sessions are tailor-made according to the needs of the client. Topmost is bringing you to closure with past and not letting fear and painful past experiences guide your present and future.

Life Transitions

We all go through a variety of transitions throughout our lifetime. These transitions can be difficult—even unnerving at times. Sometimes, due to an overpowering display of emotions, struggling with life changes can almost feel impossible.

We will tell you something no one does…

1) this process is completely normal, and

2) emotional and/or physical reaction completely normal.

Anything that is a new experience can feel challenging and make you feel nervous. It could be starting a new job, moving to a new city, starting school, starting a new relationship, starting your own family, experiencing health issues, or financial gain or loss.

These situations tend to be out of our control and come abruptly. Whether we like this change or not, these changes are inevitable; and important for human growth. The only constant in life changes.

Counselling can be a great resource of guidance for you through these changes and help you in processing these intense feelings that occur during a transition. Your therapist has the skill to dynamically listen, validate your experience, and collaborate with you on a variety of coping tools that will help calm down and relax you during these difficult situations and empower you with skills to independently face such situations next time you deal with a similar transition.

Existential Crisis

We all face existential concerns in different ways, whether or not we are consciously aware of them. These questions usually are regarding meaning, purpose, and the very nature of being human also known as an identity crisis. Usually, these are followed by a series of constant questioning or obsessing over the meaninglessness of life. Many feel overwhelmed with the social pressure created by our various institutions in society to find purpose.

If you can relate and are nodding along, please understand you are not the only one. These thoughts are part of human existence, and they can be pretty burdening and difficult to manage on our own.

Existential self-talk helps us tackle with certain experiences we all go through during our life such as being worried about your future, feeling lonely or feeling secluded, dealing with the responsibilities of our decisions, our fears about life and death, and how to cope with uncertainty, basically, the thing that is significant stuff falls within this territory.

Therapy can be of great help to understand how these aspects of life are affecting your day-to-day life, help you to reflect on how you personally define meaning in your life and help you lead a more fulfilling life in the present-day.
